One of the main accused in this case was Pragya Singh Thakur, who is now a BJP MP. Other accused included Colonel Shrikant Purohit and others associated with some Hindu organizations.
NIA court verdict: All accused acquitted
Recently, the special NIA court acquitted all seven accused in the Malegaon blast. The court said that there was no solid evidence against the accused, and questions were also raised about the functioning of the investigating agencies.
Fadnavis’s allegation: Congress had fabricated the story of ‘saffron terrorism’
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said after the court’s decision,
> “It has become clear that the Congress-led UPA government created a false narrative like ‘saffron terrorism’ to defame Hindus and please the minorities.”
He said that so much pressure was put on the investigating agencies that the police officers were forced to make a fake case. According to him, this entire investigation was part of the political conspiracy of the Congress.
The term ‘saffron terrorism’ was coined in response to ‘Islamic terrorism’
Fadnavis also said that the term Islamic terrorism had become internationally famous after 9/11. To divert attention from this, the Congress coined the term ‘saffron terror’, which tried to link Hinduism with terrorism.
‘Congress should apologize to Hindu society’
Fadnavis said that now that the court has acquitted all the accused, the Congress party should not only apologize but action should also take taken against those who defamed them.
> “This is not only playing with the lives of innocent people, but also an attack on the faith and dignity of Hindu society.”
Fadnavis’ response to the opposition parties’ reaction
When asked to comment on questions raised by Shiv Sena (UBT) about whether the accused are innocent, then who are the real culprits, Fadnavis said:
> “The opposition should be happy that a false narrative has been exposed, rather than doing politics on it.”
He further said that the next course of action will be decided after studying the entire verdict.
Will the role of investigating agencies also come under scrutiny?
Fadnavis said that he is not blaming the investigating agencies, but it must be believed that they took action under pressure from the Congress government. In such a situation, the demand is being raised that there should be an impartial investigation of this entire matter, and strict action should be taken against any officer who deliberately became a part of this conspiracy.
Pragya Singh Thakur’s statement: “Truth has won.”
MP Pragya Singh Thakur told the media after the court’s decision:
> “Today, truth has won. I was facing false allegations for years. This decision is a lesson for all those who conspire to defame Hinduism and saints.”

Evidence of political conspiracy and future strategy
Fadnavis believes that an ideology was targeted in this case. He said that this case is not only a living example of terrorism but also of political conspiracy.
He is confident that if there is an appeal against the court’s decision, the government will strongly present its side and will support the truth in every situation.
Conclusion:
The recent developments related to the Malegaon blast case have made it clear how dangerous the ideological battle in politics can become. This case is not limited to the investigation of a terrorist attack, but it also raises questions about the credibility of religion, faith, and nationalism. The court’s decision has ended a major narrative, but its echo will be heard in the country’s politics for a long time to come.
